Governance
Our Governance structure is composed of experienced individuals who are well versed in their areas of specialisms and dutybound, by their wider professional duties, to ensure that the children in our care are treated lawfully, safely and respectfully. The body includes a currently serving police officer and a chair who is a care consultant with over 25 years of experience with working with children and young people.
We are committed to developing and sustaining a governance model who emphatically understand the processes of safeguarding, child protection and the expectations of staff, and who would, with unequivocable doubt, escalate concerns about the leadership and/or any other member of staff in best interests of maintaining our pupils' welfare.
The chair of Governors is Teresa Coxford, Highbank Gardens, Fordingbridge, SP6 1BF, and who can be contacted on 07400 029992 or at Teresa.Coxford@me.com.
We will in due course be looking for a parent/carer governor and an external governor to lead on the QA/oversight of Quality of Education. All enquiries pertaining to this can be sent to Teresa Coxford.
The governing board will meet independently once every half-term and whenever there is a need. They will also undertake termly governance meetings where they will meet with New Avenue's leadership team to monitor, evaluate and quality assure the safety and effectiveness of the school's offer.
